Taxi vs. Bus vs. Rental

Coming in on a cruise for the day. I am interested in heading to Agios Sostis beach for a few hours and then back to stroll around Old Town. A rental car for mid June is yielding a price in the mid 50s.

1. How does that compare to taxi fare from the cruise port to Agios Sostis beach?

2. I assume the street signs are in Greek. If I go with a rental, can someone provide directions (with landmarks)? I assume the street signs are in Greek.

3. If I decide to travel elsewhere on the island by bus, do you need to buy a bus ticket beforehand? Where? or do you pay the driver?

Much appreciated.

I am assuming that you are asking about Mykonos.

Having been there three times I don't recall seeing any street signs. Most signs that deal with tourist orientated things are in both Greek and English. Personally the Greek is easier to read and sometimes the English leaves a lot to be desired.

I have no idea what the cab fare would be. You pay for buses just like you do at home, ie. pay the driver when you get on. Fare is in Euros.
