Coco Cay-where's the best snorkeling?

It's been too long since I've snorkeled there, but if you attend the complimentary info session by the snorkeling shack, they'll tell you where the best snorkeling is. (They will also require that you rent a snorkeling vest or use your own. On a rough-seas day it's well worth it.)

As I recall the best snorkeling was to the right of the beach, and there's a snorkeling raft out there to swim out to. There are sunken planes, cannons and other things. It was, frankly, awesome.

Actually they require you to have a vest. So if you don't have one, you will have to rent. We bought our own at a sports store and we use them lots of places. And loan them to people on coco cay who just want to swim out to the plane.

Snorkeling is to the extreme left as you walk in. The main thing is to go EARLY. Sea life is in the cay but it slowly moves out into open water as the beach gets stirred up with so many people. So there is more to see early. Try the area which leads to the open water. There are big rocks out there and sometimes big fish.
