The French have just passed a new law creating "International Tourist Zones" or ZTIs in Cannes, Nice, St Laurent-du-Var and Cagnes-sur-Mer in the Riviera also in Deauville and in Val d'Europe (near Disneyland Paris) . Stores in the ZTIs are allowed to open all day Sunday and until midnight every day of the week. They join the 12 areas within Paris that have already been designated as ZTIs.

Note that in the Riviera, that means the stretch of towns along the shore from Cannes to Nice except for Juan-les-Pins and Antibes which stay under the old regulations.

Happy shopping, if that's your thing.
