Expert advise needed

Currently have Marriott Hollywood Beach booked for 1 night pre and post Dec cruise. Just wife and I traveling (late 30's). Looking for beachfront hotel with some shopping and dining/drinks within walking distance. Anyone have other options I should consider?

Also, if we decide to spend night in Miami Beach, any hotel recommendations that meet above requirements that would be less than $300/night on a Fri or Sat?

We have pre and post at the Hollywood Marriott many times. Its a great hotel, great location on Broadwalk - drinks and food all over the place. Their oceanfront bar has a great burger.
