Visa for Malaysia?

We will be leaving our ship at Kuala Lumpur and rejoining in Mumbai. The deviation letter that we got from the cruise line says we need a Visa to disembark at the port. But Visa Central, the US State Department, and Malaysia websites indicate that US citizens do not need a visa to enter Malaysia as a tourist for less than 90 days. Does anyone know anything about a visa for Malaysia?

Yes, strange that the cruise deviation would indicate we need a visa. I'll contact them on Monday.
