CathyCruises Posted March 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Just doublechecking something here. If you are coming back from Lucca on the train, doesn't it stop at the Rossore station before Pisa Centrale? And if so, when you are done at the Tower, do you have to go to Centrale to get the train to Livorno? Or go back to Rossore and go one stop to Centrale? Thanks! It does, you can get off and back on a Rossore (a short short walk to the tower), but you'll need to change at Pisa Centrale on the way back to Livorno. On/off is permitted on a ticket (within 8 hrs IIRC)
kuldalai Posted March 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2016 In short coming from Livorno Centrale is one stop past Pisa Centrale and usually involves a change of trains at Pisa Centrale to reach Pisa Rossore which is very near to the Field of Miracles and the Leaning Tower . Ditto on return from Pisa Rossore to Livorno Centrale a change of trains is usually required at Pisa Centrale . Coming from Lucca to Pisa , Pisa Rossore comes before Pisa Centrale. From Pisa to Lucca starts at Pisa Centrale, then Pisa Rossore and then Lucca .
D-Portman Posted December 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 6, 2016 Train (using Rossore station) is absolutely the best way to visit both Pisa and Lucca ... Have written about both ports. BUT, please, do not just go to Piazza dei Miracoli ... walk a little and see the Piazza dei Cavalieri as well. If you have time, both the Museum of Sinopias and the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo are wonderful.
