What to do in Bilbao ( other than the Gugenheim

Recommended Posts

The old town of Bilbao is nice (casco historico) with some attractive Art Deco architecture, particularly in the station, theatre and a couple of the bars.

If you like art the Museo de Bellas Arte ( fine arts) is worth a visit. There are also lots of tapas bars with excellent fish and seafood.

Go to the market. Try pintxos Bilbao is not as famous as San Sebastian as far as they go but still good. Try local txakoli wine. BTW I didn't find inside of Guggenheim that interesting. Also can try contacting Bilbao Guides for walking city tours.
