Bimini Superfast 1 Night Saturday Party Cruise review

Resort World Bimini Superfast has ceased day cruises but has added a series of 2 night cruises that stay in Bimini. To this they have added a 1 night, Saturday night Bimini cruise. Depart Miami 5PM Saturday evening, return at Noon on Sunday. Note - I was told they are going to change the arrival to 1PM on Sundays going forward.

I was on the second cruise doing this Saturday night party cruise.

Thanks to an awesome promo code (Follow Resorts World Bimini on Facebook, they always have codes) for $25, YES,$25 I was onboard with an oceanview cabin. I was told the cruise included two meals - a buffet dinner and continental breakfast. In reality the buffet is open from 3PM - 9PM and they invite you to dine as much as you like. The food was average / good cruise buffet fare. Desserts were weak, but overall no complaints. Beverages are served by wait staff and they are prompt with clean up and filling drinks. We did tip the buffet attendants since there is no gratuity charged to the stateroom. Delighted to find breakfast was hot food in the buffet again with wait staff serving GOOD coffee in REAL mugs at the table.

Oh yeah, the $25 included all taxes and port fees.

We were offered a Villa in Bimini for an additional $25 per person but opted not to bother.

The crossing went fairly smooth, although speed was held down due to 10 foot waves and 30 knot winds. They offer bridge tours for a measly $7. SEVEN BUCKS! Can't go wrong. We did the bridge tour at night and got to speak with the Captain for 20 minutes. Very interesting and best $7 spent. Royal Caribbean wants $150 (yes, they show you the control rooms and laundry, etc., but still, Superfast for $7 is a bargain).

For signing up for Genting Rewards we were given $10 casino play on the ship, $20 casino play on Bimini, a free drink at the Casino on the island too. If you are sitting and playing they pretty much bring cocktails non-stop to you too.

Free tram service brought us to Alice Town, it is a bit sketchy at night. I wish I'd get to see Bimini during the day.

The resort is partially finished and what I did see is gorgeous. They are turning Bimini into a new Havana type hot getaway spot. The new hotel looks to be about half constructed.

Normal rate for the Saturday night cruise is $129PP. They offer two nighters for $199PP. They are still playing with the business model so these could change, and again, pay attention for coupon codes.

Check in and embarkation was under 10 minutes. 20 agents to handle check in. Only 400 guests on this sailing. Debarkation and customs was under 5 minutes total. Amazing. Ship docked and I was in my car within 10 minutes of lines tied off.

The ship is in great shape, and even at 3:30AM the crew is all over cleaning and taking care of guests. The rooms are TINY, 100 SF total. Two narrow beds. No TV. No hairdryer. But clean, functional, and they provide nice toiletry items and plenty of towels.

They are definitely just trying to get the word out and drum up business for the resort. This was the best deal in my entire life for a quickie getaway and I don't expect the deals to last forever. I hope they do well. Bimini has a lot of potential.

We did not try the upcharge restaurant but did see the menu and some of the food. The cover charge does include a glass of wine or beer for that venue.

With only 400 out of 1500 capacity the ship was not overly crowded, but I think it would start to feel pretty crowded with 700 or 800 people.

Almost the entire guest interaction staff is Fillipino on the ship and Bahamian on the island. Not to disparage anyone, but on the island they definitely seem a bit more on "island time"; on the ship they are the equal of any other cruise staff I have encountered.

Different bars offer 2-for-1 deals; just look for a sign.

They don't ask for a credit card at check in. The keycard only gets you on/off the ship and opens your cabin. Everything else is cash transactions.

The house band performing in the lounge on deck 7 was great. The DJ on deck 10 was "okay".

The ship has some of the most expensive and nicest teak loungers I've seen on a ship. You'll never find loungers like this on Royal or Carnival.

Nowhere to get a forward looking view from the ship, unless you do the bridge tour.

They should have been roaming around trying to sell beer/wine during buffet hours. I think they missed a lot of sales opportunities not doing this. Then again, it is nice not to be bothered. Just saying, they could make a few bucks that way.

Wish the ship had an interactive map or TV screen showing current position, speed, a map, etc. Pretty common on most ships. Just an observation.

Lots of areas for smokers. Was never bothered by smoke. Ship doesn't smell like smoke, but there are plenty of areas for smokers so no one should feel put out.
