Dawn Princess to Alaska-San Francisco

We are thiinking about taking the Dawn out of San Francisco in August. Has anyone done this cruise before? Do you recommend any deck or cabin. What do you thiink of the Dawn? Can you recommend hotels by the pier? Thanks for your help!

We looked at this cruise last year, but decided to leave out of Vancouver instead, for more ports and longer port times. You might want to post this on the Princess boards, for views on the Dawn.

we went on the Dawn last May S.F. to Alaska had a blast, loved the sea days, eveyone on the ship was great. we were on the Aloha deck, balcony rm about 18 rms from the rear. had a great ride, the Balcony
