bethhorn Posted September 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2017 For those of you who have done the Sea Trek excursion, how difficult is it to do? I'm not asking about the breathing... I'd like to know if someone in their 70s, who isn't very fit, would be able to get into the water and get going? He can do stairs, he can walk, etc... But ladders, etc are a bit of a challenge... Thoughts?
topspot Posted September 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2017 DD, DH and I did this several years ago. There is definitely ladder climbing involved. The helmet was placed over our head (it rested on our shoulders) as we were going down the ladder. You will need to equalize your ears as you descend the ladder to compensate for the change in pressure. The ladder was the only way back into the boat at the end of the dive. I had difficulty clearing my ears on the way back up, and I held up everyone that was behind me on the ladder until I was able to clear them. It was an awesome experience, and it was this excursion that made me want to get certified to dive.
