abatlin Posted May 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2005 We are one of the unfortunates who were on the Summit June 3rd canceled sailing. We are now trying to salvage what we can of our vacation. Because of special fares, we are unable to receive the wonderful compensation that Celebrity is offering...simply our money back. We are now looking at doing the Serenade of the Sea's round trip out of Vancouver on the 5th. Too late to change airline ticketing, so are looking to take the train back to Seattle from Vancouver, then catch our flight home. Does anyone have info on train schedule or web site? Would greatly appreciate any help.
SkiCruiser44 Posted May 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Go to http://www.amtrak.com - there is only one train each day and it runs pretty late in the day from Vancouver to Seattle and early in the day from Sea to Van.

Sorry about your cruise.. how disappointing.. that happened to us once on a 12-day canal cruise and we were all ON the ship ready to sail when they cancelled. not sure which is worth.. What time is flight from Seattle? Is there a reason you don't want to take the shuttle. Picks you up at the dock and takes you right to Sea-Tac? Train ride is nice but there are no cabs etc. involved iwth the shuttle. l

Rare Gardyloo Posted May 27, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2005 Note also that both Alaska Airlines and Air Canada have frequent flights from Vancouver to Seattle, so even though it's more than the shuttle (or renting a car one way, another option) it's still easy to get to Sea-Tac by early afternoon following disembarkation.
