Pier Pressure 53 Posted October 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2014 This maybe a dumb question, but never having been on a cruise before, here goes. When off the coast of California traveling between San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Ensenada, are you close enough to the coast to receive regular cell service (no international)?? Thanks. CruiserBruce Posted October 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2014 As answered in your other thread, no coverage. The ship will be generally too far from land.

John It has been our experience that cell signal strength will support voice to roughly 6 miles and text to roughly 11 miles from the nearest tower. The cruise ships sail far enough offshore to allow the casino to legally operate and that is beyond typical cell phone coverage. Enjoy!
