huskypup Posted October 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2016 Hi we are doing a transatlantic leaving Port Canaveral on 1st April. We will be driving from Orlando on Thursday 30th March as we are going to Universal studios on route from Tampa. We want to visit the space centre, where do you suggest we stay - we will have a hire car which we will hand back before we board. We like beach's but don't want ultra posh or expensive just clean and safe. What areas do you suggest it may be 3 night's not the 2 if plans change xx
Clarea Posted October 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2016 We thought the Marriott Courtyard was clean and reasonably priced and is walking distance to the beach.
TNShadyLady Posted October 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2016 Doubletree Cocoa Beach is clean, safe, reasonably priced, and right on the beach. Would definitely stay there again.
boogerwolf Posted October 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2016 Courtyard by Marriott on A1A (Atlantic Ave) in Cocoa Beach is nice and reasonable. Short pathway access to the beach, nice sized pool. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
bunnyette Posted October 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2016 We enjoyed the Hampton Inn. Short walk to the beach, breakfast included in the rate. Easy to get to the Port from the hotel.
Rare crewsweeper Posted October 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2016 I don't think you can go wrong with any of the suggestions thus far. Remember these are in Cocoa Beach just down from Port Canaveral. Same main highway. In Port Canaveral proper. there's Country Inn and Suites, Renaissance Inn, Radisson, Holiday Inn Resort, and a new Homewood Suites. All about as close tot he cruise port as you can get; all have good reviews, clean rooms and reasonable prices. I would look for the one closest to your rental car agency and near where you're thinking about grabbing a bite to eat so you don't wind up driving about town "on the wrong side of the road" looking for things. huskypup Posted October 20, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Thank you We have decided to stay in Cocoa beach and drive to the port and hand the car back in on the day of the cruise and catch the shuttle from the car hire.
