We received an offer from RCCl casino program but it's been a while since we have been on RCCl so we are not familiar with their casino program so am trying to gather information from these threads but it seems that RCCL is currently making some changes so the info I am reading is a bit confusing. We are familiar with NCL CAS and CCL Players Club so am hoping to hear some opinions from CCers who who have experienced all 3 programs as to which program they think is best. Thanks.

Yes, the RCI Club Royale Program is in the midst of a change. In the past, the program was static, meaning that once you qualify, you are in forever. They have been trying to revamp the program to be more like a land-based casino with distinct tiers and qualification and requalification requirements. The rollout of the program has now been delayed more than a year.

It is my understanding that even with the CCL players' program, there is no reciprocity, meaning that your tier level/status with CCL means nothing to RCI (and vice versa).

I would hesitate to suggest that you try and enroll in the RCI program now b/c it is entirely possible that it will be changing before you even get a chance to enjoy any benefits.

Currently, the 5% convenience fee is waived for CR members, a "rebate" program can generate rebate dollars on future cruises (however, this perk is quickly being phased out), free drinks in the casino and a percentage off the full price of a cruise. This last one varies widely and there are no published guidelines about how it works, which ships qualify for a discount or how much discount you are entitled to. It's very hard to know if you will qualify for any cruise fare discount or how much you are likely to receive (I generally receive 42 - 46% off full cruise fare). They also hand out "comp" cruise certificates based on your play and those also seem to vary widely in how they are earned and distributed.

The bottom line is....the guidelines for the "old" program are left up almost entirely to the ship's casino management. The perks offered and how they are implemented has been left up to each casino manager. My guess is their goal, with the "new" program (if it is ever implemented) will be to try and standardize the "rules" and execution of the program throughout the fleet. Who knows...they tell us nothing.
