Arlanda Express

We recently ended our Viking Ocean cruise in Stockholm and stayed a couple of extra days. When I read about airport transportation the Arlanda Express seemed to be the way to go (fast, efficient). I purchased tickets online ahead of time. Once there I changed my mind at the last minute. We did a bunch of wandering around, etc, and we were going to get to our aiport hotel to meet our early AM flight. I think the Arlanda Express was 580 SEK advance purchase. After our day around town I asked at our hotel, and the fixed rate to Arlanda (and any airport hotel) was 520 SEK. So we took the cab...our luggage in the trunk, straight there, didn't have to load and unload or get our luggage into and out of the train. My husband still hasn't acknowledged that I paid for 2 transfers, but, honestly, we would have had to get a cab to the train ($), lug our luggage, have our hotel airport pick us up in the shuttle...this way he delivered us door to door. I highly recommend it.

Arlanda Express usually have discounts for booking in advance or for booking multiple tickets.

AE ticket price lists says 350 SEK for two single tickets if you travel on Thursdays-Sundays, public holidays or any day
