Hello! My family of four is cruising to St. Thomas next June. We are looking for a nice beach with clean bathrooms, chair/umbrella rentals, and food to visit. We would prefer a beach that has moderate to low crowds. What's the best way to get to get to the beach and what can a family of four expect to pay for the day (including rentals, food, etc.)?

For a beach on St Thomas that meets these criteria our choice would be Sapphire. Here is one webcam and a drone video of Sapphire -

You can find other Sapphire webcams by searching this forum and the St Thomas forum on tripadvisor. Round trip taxi for 4 = $80 - $84, lounges are $9 (no umbrellas needed with the natural shade), you can see other rental and food prices in madimorg's thread -

For a day in port at St Maarten our favorite beach is Friar's Bay. A gorgeous beach just a few minutes beyond Orient Beach (25 - 30 min taxi) and much less crowded OB and Dawn, and calmer than Dawn. The Beach Club serves an amazing lunch, and you can get 2 lounges and 1 umbrella for $10 if you have something to eat there. Most day visitors just ask the taxi driver to return for them at a certain time to save having to call a taxi.

If you want something closer to port and don't mind crowds look at Dawn. Orient Beach is popular as well but the beach isn't that Caribbean beach to us after staying there...

Enjoy your cruise!
