Place for two women to meet in Dubai

One of us is at the JW Marriott Marquis and the other is arriving at 7a.m. on the Celebrity Century. The Dubai Mall doesn't open until 10a.m. We want to go shopping and sight seeing. We are both on the next sailing of the Century (one new, one doing back to back). We have only connected here on Cruise Critic so we don't know each other yet. Do any locals, ex-pats, or anyone who has been there before have a good idea for how we can best start our sight-seeing, shopping day?

Well why not meet at your hotel then???

Have a leisurely late breakfast and head out to do you shopping at 10.

The malls do open around that time, but quite a few shops can open later especially on Fridays). So before noon or later there is not too much action.

Any taxi driver from the port will know the hotels.

Taxis are clean metered, safe and inexpensive. No drama whatsoever.
