imisseurope Posted April 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2012 Just looking into what I will need to bring with me to charge my camera (Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS) and Iphone 4. Sounds like I need an adapter and converter? Will not be travelling with a laptop, hairdryer, curling iron, ebook reader or any other electronic gadgets. Just the camera and Iphone. Any advice? Needzavacation Posted April 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Most chargers these days are dual voltage, so you only need an adapter. That's the case with the iPhone charger. My camera charger (Olympus) is also dual voltage - there's a round doo-hickey that you have to switch to the correct voltage, but then it needs only an adapter. Look at the charger itself to see if it lists the lower U.S. voltage and higher European voltage.
imisseurope Posted April 10, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted April 10, 2012 Yay!, thank you. Looked on both chargers and they do say 100-240 volts, 50/60 Hz. Thank you!
sk8teacher Posted April 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2012 You will still need an adapter plug however, to convert our three prong plug into the typical European two prong. Depending on where you are going there are differences between the plugs in some countries. Cheers,
