toberman Posted September 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2014 First let me say I'm embarrassed that I haven't been to Quebec City... drove by it a few times, but never stayed. I'm looking at a Princess cruise next year YQB - HOU. It seems that other than flying to YYZ and back to YQB my only option is VIA Rail. Plus - out of YGK we would have to take a B1900 to YYZ and from YYZ a Q400. The Q I can take but I've seen soo many times the Beech cannot handle the bags.. Your bags, next flight, next day.. who knows!! VIA offers 3 stops in YQB... Charny (which I think is south of the river?) - Sainte-Foy and Gare Du Palais. Forgive me if I haven't spelled everything correctly. My question is... which station should I look at for being - 1 close to the port, and 2 close to hotels?? Thanks for any info... and also all your feedback on this forum. Appreciated. Doug

Twickenham Posted September 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) LOL no problem on the spelling! For the train - an imminently sensible option from Kingston to Quebec - you want Gare du Palais, which in a pinch is walkable to the cruise terminal (maybe a 15-20 minutes on flat ground). There are a couple of hotels across from the train station, and a few more closer to the cruise terminal. Edited September 30, 2014 by Twickenham 'Cause I apparently can't spell 'Kingston'...! toberman Posted October 1, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted October 1, 2014 Thanks - I was pretty sure that was the correct station. Now to check on what an insane price it will be one-way from IAH to get home.
