Ok the wife and I want to Zip Line and also do some beach stuff in Roatan. The problem is we have not been there before and don't know which is the better way to go. We need your input and comments in detail.

Little French Key has a package of Ziplining at the "Pirates of the Caribbean Extreme course" and then the LFK island with 2 drinks and lunch each for the price of $296 for the 2 of us, without a depost.

"Pirates of the Caribbean Extreme course" has a package that includes the Ziplining and what they are calling a "Beach Break "Resort"" for the price of $130 for teh 2 of us without Lunch or Drinks. With a 25% Deposit.

QUESTIONS:

Is the Little French Key worth the extra $166?

Is the "Beach Resort" for Pirates really a resort? Can you buy Drinks (4-5) and lunch at the "Resort" for 2 folks for less than $166? Is the "Resort" within walking distance of other eating and drinking places?

Thanks in advance for your input.....

jaxfl,

We've zip lined several times @ Roatan and haven't heard of either option you mention. IMO, 'Clip-n-Zip' is located just across the road from the cruise port entrance (Mahogany Bay) and if you head there early you'll be able to zip thru with no delay. There's also a 4wheeler excursion beside Clip-n-Zip that provides some fun.

After zipping and 4wheeling you can catch a cab to East Bank, AKA East Bay, (May be West vs East?) AKA a few other names beach (It's all the same nice long beach similar to Seven Mile Beach but with mountains behind) and odds are the cab driver will be able to hook you up with a reasonable 'resort' that will include chairs and reasonably priced drinks.

You can also skip the cab ride to the beach and enjoy Carnival's beach at Mahogany Bay; it's scenic, free, and has great food and drinks for reasonable prices.

The above mentioned excursions would be the generic option, but having done the others......the enjoyment level is comparable. ;)

Hi, we have used Roatan Sun Splash a couple times when we've cruised West Carib. They were fantastic. Professional, patient with our kids. The last time we were there we did the zipline snorkel pkg.

We weren't booked to do the beach, but we decided to we really wanted to spend the rest of the day on the beach. They had a lunch pkg you could include. Maybe you should check with them and see if they still offer it? We found them on tripadvisor and booked because of the great reviews. Have a great time!!

Did you decide to go to one of the two places mentioned? Trying to find reviews on Pirates Bay??
