First cruise lady Posted July 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2016 Hi. We're going on a cruise in august and will be calling at Toulon. As we've already been to Toulon, we were thinking of going to Marseille and I've read that you can get to Marseille from Toulon by train. Does anyone know if that's correct and if so, can anyone give me any information about it, for example, how long it takes and how to get from the ship to the station? Many thanks for any replies. vickie_bernie Posted August 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2016 we too have been to Toulon before and loved it but this next voyage that docks in Toulon we are also hoping to get to Marseille. Yes it is possible to get to Marseille quite quickly from Toulon; however it will require some planning. First we dock usually in Sien sure la Mer so you have to get from there to the train station in Toulon. The ship's often offer a shuttle service to Toulon (ours last year charged $10 US each roundtrip) then you have to walk to the train station, then catch train to Marseille. We have decided to purchase transportation to Marseille thru the ship this time due to time constraints.
