Grocery Store to Buy Rum Close to Port

Hi Folks,

Any recommendations for a grocery store in Belize City close to the port where you can buy local Rum? I found in Mexico that the grocery stores often have a better selection and better prices.

Unless Wadethegringo has other suggestions, I'd say Brodie's on Albert Street about 3 blocks over the swing bridge is the nearest place. 10 minute walk, 5 minute taxi ride. There's also the Travellers Liquor Heritage Center but you need a tour there I believe. Supposedly the cheapest place is the duty free shop in the arrival area of the International Airport. It's a 20 minute taxi ride from the tender pier and I'm not sure if you can get into it via the street.

Check the prices before you leave the port area. I don't know if they have a higher mark up..But I would agree Brodies is the most tourist friendly.
