Hi! Wanted to get some ideas on shore excursions for La Spezia, Italy. Tours seem to be on the high side and wanted to look at different options. Any insider info would be gratefully appreciated. Anchors Aweigh :-)

Hi, I see that you have joined the Roll Call for this cruise. My husband and I are on the same cruise. :)

Since we have already been to Cinque Terra, Florence and Pisa, we are opting to take transportation to Lucca, a walled village. We will probably rent bikes, buy some cheeses, breads, and wine, and ride around the wall, stopping to have a picnic along the way. We will stay in Lucca for 4 hours. It's about 1 hour away from the port.

We are sharing the transport with another couple from the Roll Call. I believe that there are 2 spots left, if I am not mistaken. If you have not already read the RC, there is a guy named Jim (YVRCanuck) who has made a spreadsheet of all RC members and activities. It's great! Go look under one of his post for the link to the spreadsheet.
