Akureyri 9 August 2012

Recommended Posts

Akureyri is very isolated. It is at the bottom of a gorgeous fjord. We took the ship's excursion. It was very nice. We went to some gardens and to some very pretty waterfalls. There is a lot to see around there. I am not familiar with any excursion companies. All the one's from the ship seemed very nice.

We're on the Eclipse 7/7 sailing and are doing a private full day tour with Taxi no 17, Auðun Benediktsson is the owner. Check out his web page http://www.taxi-no17.com and ask him for a quote, he seems to be very nice and quite reasonable.

There are some other operators recommended on Tripadvisor, you could check them out also. There's one called Gentle Giants who does whale watching tours, a group from our cruise is going with them.

Hope have a great cruise!
