Passion Sunset Dinner

We've eaten there about 7 times in the past year with my Dad who eats EXTREMELY slow :o and I think the longest we've gone is about 2 hours and 15 minutes and that is with appetizer, entree and coffee.

Yes, 3 hours is plenty of time for a relaxing dinner. JUST to be on the safe side, mention to them that you have to be back ON the ship by 9:30 pm. ;)

Passions is dining directly on the beach with your toes in the sand. You must make a reservation.

My last review from Cruise Critic's sister website TripAdvisor.com

If a pictures speaks a thousand words there are tons of photos.

Thanks so much for the great info! How do you dress?

If we can't get reservations there, what would be another good restaurant in the area? We would like good food...but great scenery would be a benefit but not a must. I was also reading on TA about Daniels. We saw a Brazilian steakhouse last year but the reviews seem to be mixed on it. We have never been to that area...usually just hang out near pier after we return from golf. Last year though we did a sunset sail and riding back we passed through this area and Mr Ski thought it looked really cool. So we thought we might venture over in this area for an early dinner before getting back to the ship (by 9:30).

Thanks so much.

Dress at Passions is casual. My daughter and I wear sundresses and my husband wears nice twill shorts and a button down shirt. Polo shirts are okay too.

If you are unable to get a reservation there are tons of other restaurants depending upon what type of food you are interested in.

Waterfront options include Pinchos and the West Deck.

Thanks again! A couple of more questions....

Approx how much should a taxi be to gt from cruise pier? (and about how much time should we allow?)

Are there taxis readily available in the evening for a return to the ship or do we need to have the taxi come back for us?

What is in this area to see before or after dinner?

Thanks for all of the great info!

Should be about $13 each way. I would give yourself 20 minutes, probably won't take that long, but with traffic congestion around the cruise terminal and downtown Oranjestad you never know. ;)

The alternative is to walk to the bus station from the terminal and take the bus to the Amsterdam Manor where Passions on the Beach is located. There is a bus stop in front of the resort . Sorry cannot tell you how long it would take by bus, depends upon how many stops the bus has to make. ;)

Your waiter or waitress will gladly call a taxi for you to bring you back to the cruise terminal. Just request they call for one when they bring you your dinner check.

There are a few resorts, but just that and Eagle Beach. Passions has a beach bar with some nice comfortable seating where you can have a happy hour cocktail. Happy hour is 5 - 6pm, buy 1 get 1 free.

Depending upon the amount of time you have you could always start at Palm Beach and wander around the shopping plazas there before hopping the bus to the Amsterdam Manor, it is the first stop after Palm Beach. You could walk it but it is just a dusty dirt path and you'd probably get a bit sweaty. ;)
