Epic - Balcony or Mini Suite?

is it worth it to upgrade to mini suite if already have mid-ship balcony? How are they different? Layout looks the same in cabin pictures.

There's not much difference except the bathroom is bigger-larger shower or a tub (beds by balcony). There appears to be a little more storage space. The mini is a few feet longer. I'm not sure if the balcony size is the same (it appears to be a little smaller). We switched when spa mini prices equaled the spa balcony price we had paid. Ours is an 11 day voyage so thought extra storage might help. Unless you really want a tub, I wouldn't think it's worth any more money. Just my opinion.

We usually book mini suites over balconies, but I'm not convinced that it is worth the difference on the Epic. For our next Epic cruise we have decided to save the money and go for a balcony.

The difference is basically in the bathroom area.

No big deal for us for the larger shower or tub.

Our balcony is slightly larger than some due to its location.

We were in mini suite on Jade (got upgrade for no extra money) and it was larger than balcony cabin.

A mid-ship balcony is a perfect room, I wouldn't trade it if the mini is located at the forward or aft of the ship.

On our first ncl cruise we took the mini suite with the expectation of having a tub for our young children. We were disappointed to find an oversized shower. The room itself is same size as balcony so for us it was not with the money.n since then we have had penthouse suite on jewel class but on epic breakaway or etc if we cannot get a suite it will be mid ship or aft balcony for us.

I don't think you will regret your decision to stick with balcony.
