Punta Delgada

We are the TA on the Dream in April and are trying to decide what to do on Punta Degada stop. We are intrested in the all day excursion run by Thomson and wondered if anyone had done it.It is probably the only time we will visit the Azores so want to see as much as possible. I really wanted to a trip offered by Amazing tours (local company) as they take small groups and tailor the trip to weather conditions but they need a minimum of 6 people and we are only two. Any feedback regarding trips on this island would be very welcome. thanks.

Hi Ashby, I have been to Ponta Delgada. Sao Miguel is a beatiful island. We didn't go with Thomson, but the trip we did is probably similar to the one Thomson do. Ours was only a half day one though as we did not arrive there until lunchtime. Well worth doing though - such a lovely place.

We are on this cruise and I was thinking about doing the full day tour but I was going to wait until after the port talk before making my mind up.

I'd also looked at the local tours but didn't fancy not knowing where I was going till on the day.

We went on the Celebrity Eclipse. We went from Southampton and it took almost 3 days to get there, so we only arrived at lunchtime. We didn't leave until about 10pm. These are some photos I took from the ship in the evening :)
