Most of the tours on the islands are small mini buses or vans due to roads are narrow and only two lanes, with the exception of Oahu.

Have a look at Roberts Hawaii there great company and recommended here a lot over the years. You can also use them for land excursions.

The drivers are very knowledgeable as they have been doing the same tour for years, they also know how to get around if traffic its delayed as most islands only have one way in and out. So no need to worry about making it back to ship on time.

We have used them for all our 6 cruises to Hawaii but this upcoming trip we are renting cars in most ports.
