1st Cruise Boarding Pass question

Macilly

Recommended Posts

Hi - I am new here so bear with me. We are taking our family on our very first cruise and booked a suite on the Fantasy. They called offering the owner suite and I hesitantly took it and am cautiously excited. Some reviews on the internet seem sucky (lots of lido noise, jogging track) while others say its great. We plan on going in with an open mind and having fun regardless. I don't think I will even hear the noise from the casino :D

My question is that I printed out our boarding passes and the state room says TBA. They don't say VIP or anything though carnival did email a VIP luggage tag (its bright pink). It makes me nervous to be going with a TBA on our passes. Is this normal for the owners suite? Do I go in the VIP line (will they even let me in the line w/o VIP on our passes?).

Appreciate any feedback.

Macilly

WOW, you will be blown away by the owner's suite! A friend of ours had it on the Fantasy and invited us to take a look around, it is beautiful! You will be spoiling yourselves for sure. Sorry, can't help you with the tickets, but you should definitly have VIP status. I would call Carnival back and ask about this specifically.

Thanks for the replies. The cruise is less than 2 weeks away so I called Carnival and asked. They said "it was fine". I asked why the PH wasn't on the boarding pass and they said the owner suite wasnt listed on the website so they can't give me anything with the PH number on it.

That sounds weird to me but I am a first-timer and maybe this is how it works? Sure makes me nervous though to be taking my kids and family with a TBA.

Hello Mcilly,

When they offered you the owner's suite, and you agreed to the increase in price, they MUST have sent you a new copy of the confirmation. One that indicates the new cabin number and the new price? Do you have that?

If so, I suggest you just keep a copy of that in hand, and show it to anyone who questions you as you get into the VIP line.

If you didn't get that new confirmation, then you really have to get the whole situation clarified.

It will be fine, make copies of your luggage tag for all of your bags and then keep one with your boarding information - go directly to the front of the line and enjoy your VIP status - what a great way to begin cruising.....

Have a great trip

  • 5 months later...

Macilly,

Hi. We're in the exact same situation, first cruise ever AND got upsold to the Owner's Suite but on the Carnival Inspiration, sailing in 8 days out of Long Beach.

I called Carnival afterhours and the person did not have any idea... I'm going to try to email or call the PVP that offered us the upsell during the week.

Did VIP embarkation work out alright for you?

Did you use the TBA luggage tags and boarding pass or the PH1 luggage tag that has blank lines for you to fill in the booking #/ Sailing info/ Guest Name?

If you have the time, you should post a belated mini review of the Fantasy Owner's Suite... maybe?

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
