coolbluegreenseas Posted October 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2016 Is there much a difference between a category 2 berth and a 3 or 4? We are thinking about the March 18th Caribbean sail and I have a choice. The cat threes are on the clipper deck at the stern near the purser's office and the owner's cabin. Any thoughts are appreciated. MJ
muskatnuss Posted October 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2016 We always take a cat4 cabin on the Royal Clipper and the Star Clipper and the Star Flyer. Of course it is our choice and we know why we do it. A sail on the wonderful Clippers is not the same as cruise on a cruise ship. You feel the ocean. You hear the ocean. The boat is alive!!! Far forward cabins are definitely rougher is high seas. Hallway noise is not much of a factor anywhere on the ship. Other than those factors it's a matter of convenience and access to the dining room and deck and that amounts to a flight of stairs. Not a big problem for us. Pavovsky Posted October 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2016 Stayed in cat 4 on first cruise and then upgraded to cat 3 on 2nd. No difference in the cabins so just comes down to location.
