Planning an excursion to St. Andrews

We will be in port a full 12 hours in September and wondering if anyone has had any experience with arranging a sightseeing/golf trip down to St. Andrews from Greenock (Glasgow). Thanks if you can guide me to information.

It's a bit of a way from Greenock. I assume you're not docking in Edinburgh because it's much nearer St Andrews? You certainly couldn't get from Greenock to St Andrews on your own so it will definitely need a tour. Some people on my roll call last year were also doing a round Britain and I believe they used Lynott Tours in several ports. I'm pretty sure some of them did golf. However I don't know anything about the company other than that. Think they're probably an intermediary but not sure
