I apologize if this has been asked, I have searched and can't find my answer. We will be aboard RCI, Adventure of the Seas in April and want to snorkel. We see excursions from St. Thomas and St. Croix that both reference Buck Island. IS this the same place? Thanks!

Not sure, but I would guess it's the same, since St Tomas and St Croix are in such close proximity. It would be odd for 2 Buck Islands to be that close. So, go for the more affordable option. :D

Here is some info on Buck Island in St. Croix

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_Island_Reef_National_Monument

You can find catamaran tours at go to st Croix dot com

Buck Island in St. Thomas is typically REALLY crowded unless you do a private sail and get there before the cruise passengers get there. Buck Island in St. Croix is a national park and only allows a limited number of boats per day.

Hope this helps.

Can you share with me the excursion info from St Croix? We are on the same cruise and I may be interested in joining you.

We got to visit both Buck Islands. They are so different. We really enjoyed Buck Island in St. Croix and took a tour with Caribbean Sea Adventures. They gave us all the history of the island and this is what I can remember. Buck Island in St. Croix is a National Monument from JFK. The waters around it for 3 miles are protected so there are loads of fish and coral. The beach was the nicest we had ever been to. This was our favorite part of the trip.
