hi, i was wondering how feasible it is to do taxi tours on the itiniery for the princess british island cruise. I realize you can get taxis easily in Dublin but what about the other places like

Cork to see blarney area, kindle and scenery?

belfast to see glens of atrium

scotland to see scenery and loch ness area

liverpool to go out into countryside to see wales

Yes, there'll be taxis available at all the ports.

But this isn't the Caribbean or S E Asia - a taxi hired for a tour at the quayside in the UK or most of the rest of Europe will be super-expensive, probably around $300 for the day. Hail one at the quay only for a short A to B, perhaps into town or to the rail station.

For a tour you need to research and book ahead, ideally by joining a tour or sharing a car or van with others on your cruise's RollCall.

If you don't know how to find your RollCall, come back with your ship's name & sailing date, and some kind soul will post a link.

For Liverpool to the north coast of Wales (castles, Snowdonia, etc) try http://www.busybus.co.uk/cruise-excursions

At South Queensferry (for Edinburgh) there will be black taxi cabs waiting. The going rate for a 'tour' was £35 per hour last year, but if you pick one up at the head of the line, you take a chance of how knowledgable the driver happens to be. There are companies, that specialise - such as Edinburgh Cab Tours who may be worth pre- booking. It also depends on what you want to see. CruiseForth.com has a section on private tours, which may give you some ideas.
