I'll be arriving @ Kings Wharf on the Summit for two days next week. I know I can take a ferry to Hamilton or St George's, but how easy / expensive will it be to use taxis to explore other parts of the island? What are the pros / coins of taking the bus?

We thought about renting scooters, but decided that's not for us.

Thanks!!

Taxis are easy, but very expensive. You can take the ferry to Hamilton or St. George's for $5 per person in each direction, but a taxi for two people to Hamilton will costt about $50 plus tip in each direction and about $75 plus tip in each direction to St. George's.

Also the ferry will be faster. About 20 minutes to Hamilton or 45 minutes to St. George's. A taxi would take about 40 minutes to Hamilton or over an hour to St. George's.

Buses will also take much longer than the ferries to those destinations.

If you want to take a taxi tour of Bermuda, it will cost $50 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. It is a very good way for someone making their first visit to get an overview of Bermuda.

For just point-to-point travel, buses and ferries can take you virtually anywhere you want to go .

As long as you can handle the expense, the taxi would be a good way to go. A taxi opens up the entire island and gives door to door service where using a bus will require, in many cases, a walk to your destination.

Below are the fares from the Dockyard to various locations (originally posted by CC member Charles4515). Fares can be reduced by taking the ferry first and then hiring a taxi for the remainder of the trip (from Hamilton or St George).
