Maztlalan snorkeling

Has anyone done a private snorkeling trip and how was it? Are there good places to snorkel? Any vendor suggestions?

This is my first time to Mexico and I am a beginner with snorkeling. I will be bringing my own gear.

I haven't snorkeled in Mazatlan. I have in Puerto Vallarta. It was good but not great. Snorkeling on the Pacific coast is very different, not nearly as good as the Caribbean. I would choose Puerto Vallarta over Mazatlan.

Not O.C. but I have heard that the kelp forests in Catalina are awesome to do snorkel and scuba

Cool. My niece and I did a kayaking and snorkeling trip in Cabo and it was a lot of fun.

I haven't tried snorkeling in Orange County. However, I know some folks who have snorkeled in Catalina Island. They liked it but it is not at all like snorkeling in warmer water areas such as the Caribbean. Plus, our water can be quite cool despite the temperature on land.

Thanks. Will give that a try (Catalina) for my birthday this year. I just learned you get free round trip transport to Catalina on your BD. You have to book early.

We kayaked at Catalina off of Californian when we cruised with them a few years back. It was really cool.
