Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise?

has anyone been on this tour with Princess? We will have a free day at Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge and are considering this tour .

Can you give me your opinions please

We did this tour on our free day at the Kenai Lodge. It was one of the highlights of our cruisetour. We left the lodge around 9:30 am to get to the boat. We were out in the boat for over 6 hours. The water was rough when we got out of the bays, so we weren't able to get to some of the areas where you see a lot of sealions. All in all, we saw porpoises, puffins, sealions, humpback whales and Orcas. It seemed like Orca sightings are more rare.

How close did you get to the glacier and did you see calving please?

We were about 1/4 mile from the Holgate Glacier and we saw several calvings

The captain will take the boat as close as is safely possible having to avoid the 'bergys' (miniature icebergs) from coming in contact with the propeller. Calving, like the weather is unpredictable but I can't remember a trip where didn't see action.

Be sure your tour is at least 6 hours on the water. You get very close to the glacier- depending which one, Aialik Glacier is superior for being more active, if you can get that tour.
