Cruise with an amputation

My aunt will be joining us on our cruise and she has had her leg amputated. She recently was advised to stop using her prosthesis and will be using "Canadian Crutches" as she refuses a scooter. Has anyone had experience with these on a ship?

Personally have not used Canadian Crutches also referred to as crutches with Arm Cuffs. Have used double canes and have traveled with others that have used Canadian Crutches on cruises. As to how she'll do with the crutches depends her level of comfort using them. Though she's refused a scooter, a scooter or wheelchair is a good back up plan particularly if the ship experiences bad weather that could cause a lot of extra motion or she tires using the crutches particularly while in port.

Believe there are others on this forum that actually have first hand experience and hopefully they will offer some insight to assist your aunt
