Quampapetet Posted September 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Is the parking by Cafe Mallorca usually full or will we be able to find a space? (I went to La Bombonera last time and we took a taxi.) Is there parking at/near the forts? (This is a land trip and we're renting a car because we have to travel over an hour from San Juan on two of the days. Might also go to El Yunque.) There is parking on the street but sometimes it can be hard to find. I know there is a parking garage not too far away from it (maybe a block or two) But when we were there in Dec 2012 we had to circle the block a couple of times until we found parking by Cafeteria Mallorca. Parking at El Morro is in an underground structure just before you get to the fort. If you are driving on he street it is on it is just to the east of the fort. monicajay Posted September 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2014 We have done numerous land trips to PR and driven into OSJ. As we would do in Montreal, we drive around in circle and seem to always find street parking. You need to be good at parallel parking though as the spaces are tight. We did pass some garages too so don't worry, you will find something.
nextcruiseis Posted September 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Street parking is hard to find and driving through the narrow streets of Old San Juan is not an easy task. There is a multi-level public parking structure (Estacionamento Doña Fela) on Calle Recinto Sur which is inexpensive and open 24-hrs.
Quampapetet Posted September 13, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted September 13, 2014 Thanks, everyone! :) We're used to driving in a crazy city with the worst drivers, so San Juan shouldn't be an issue.
