Hotel in Jacksonville

Looking for an inexpensive but clean/decent hotel for one night in Jacksonville end of September. We actually need 2 rooms as there are 7 of us. We are planning to park at the alternative parking lot so trying to save a bit on the room as we will only be there one night. Would love to be near the beach but I know that would probably be too pricey.

If you're driving in look at Value Place Dames Point. Just off 295 East across the St Johns from the cruise port (about 5 miles). I think rooms are below $70 per night as opposed to the Holiday Inn at the interchange of 295 and Heckscher Drive (the road to the port) which goes for around $120. There are places up around the airport too.
