Nursery on RCI Explorer of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Hi :) We are cruising to NZ on the newly refurbished Explorer of the Seas in January. Our son will be 2 years old and we are trying to find out if there will be a Nursery added to this ship as part of the refurbishments. Its the only ship in that fleet to not have the nursery and the RCI website says fleet wide in the future but they can't confirm anything when Ive emailed them. Have any of the inclusions for the refurbishment been confirmed yet? Does anyone know? Thanks

Hi Bomberdiva, there is no nursery on board where you can leave bubba for a couple of hours while you go out for dinner and the show. On explorer (and voyager) royal babies and tots offers 45 min play sessions but you must be with your child. The only rccl ship cruising from Oz currently with a drop-off nursery is Radiance. I researched this exhaustively when planning our December cruise with our 18 month old. We originally had booked voyager but realised they only offer in room baby sitting for the under 3's at $20 per hour. We then swapped to Radiance so we could use the drop off nursery and enjoy some "us time". I hope this helps [emoji3]

Thankyou :) we cruised on the Radiance earlier this year and had been told there wasn't a nursery so left our son at home (we were on our Honeymoon so probably better anyway!) but then found out once we were onboard that there was in fact a nursery. It does appear from looking at the deck Plan on Deck 12 that there now is a nursery on the Explorer! Perhaps they've added it during the refurbishment. They are apparently going to add them to all their ships but still not confirmed officially from RCI. Fingers crossed. Thankyou for your replies

Another thing you could do is to pop over to the Royal Caribbean International board and ask over there as there seem to be alot of folk who have just done cruises on Explorer of the Seas and may be able to confirm for you.

Where do you see it shown on Deck 12?

When I look at their deck plan all I see is the standard facilities for children aged 3+. No reference to a nursery.

The 3rd party website posted earlier refers to the nursery in its text, but it is incorrect, as it did not get added.

For whatever reason, the Voyager and Explorer are now the same after refurb in not having a specific nursery.
