Balcony room on Europe cruise

Twice-a-year

Recommended Posts

For the sail-in to Venice, you want to be on the starboard side. Sailing out, port side. However, the best views are from topside. But time of year is important, because early and late in the season you will not have much daylight sailing in or out. EM

On our Eastern Med cruise out of Rome this past summer the RCCL representative when I made my reservations recommended port side so I could see more. As it turned out, each time our port side was opposite the side with the most views. But since we were in the very aft, it did not really matter.

Ships dock at whichever side is easiest and available in the ports. It can change from cruise to cruise. Even at the home port in Civitavecchia we were opposite the port.
