when we were in St. Maarten in 2012, we took a water taxi that cost just $5 p/person and rented chairs/umbrellas for $20 for the 2 of us and that included some drinks. we liked it because we could see our ship from the beach and there was shopping behind.

Question: what is the name of that beach and is it still available to cruisers?

thanks....

The beach is called Great Bay and there has been talk of pollution issues on this beach for quite a while now. You will still see people on the beach and in the water and have heard and read that locals will not go to this beach because of the pollution.
