We will be on the NCL's Escape in July 2017 and will be stopping in Tortola from 7am - 3pm. We want to go to the baths on our own and want to take Speedy's Ferry at 7:45am.

This is only my 4th cruise, but I remmber in the past having to wait a long time to get off the ship and that people with ship booked excursions, get to get off first.

Also it looks like we don't prepay the ferry, we just go and pay when we get there?

I can only say I've seen many reports from folks that made the ferry with no problem and actually had to wait for it. The next ferry is at 9.

And yes, you will pay at the ferry terminal. There are 2 operators, Speedy's is the primary. They offer the round trip ferry for $30pp, or you can add the round trip taxi on VG or even a lunch package at the Turtle & Baths in Spanishtown which is within walking distance of the ferry terminal on VG.

You'll have a 12:40 return that gets you back around 1:10, plenty of time to hit Sunny Caribbee, a great little spice shop, and Pusser's Pub for an English ale and a look at their clothing line.

Just FYI, we were just there last week and smith's no longer runs this route. You must use Speedy's schedule.

Assuming u dock at 7 and are ready to go, you should make it no problem. We encountered no lines disembarking. We docked at 8 but weren't ready to leave until 8:25, we made the 9 ferry no problem.
