Walking from El Morro to San Juan Cathedral

This is fairly easy. As you exit the path that leads away from El Morro, take a left until you reach a plaza with a small floor-level fountain and a big totem on it's higher level. Take the street to the left and parallel to the plaza going up (or walk across the plaza itself). The street snakes left at the top, then right. You will be on Cristo street going downhill. About three quaters of the way down you will see the cathedral on the left. There's not really a specific "shopping district" in OSJ since most of it IS the shopping district. To get to some of the stores keep going on Cristo street until you reach Fortaleza street and take a left (that's the Governor's mansion on your far right on Fortaleza, by the way). You will find all kinds of stores on this street or on San Francisco street (one block north) and Tetuan (one block south). San Justo, Tanca and Paseo Colon run north-south from either of the "shopping streets". Take either one going downhill to reach the piers.
