Gilbraltor taxis

Has anyone ridden lately in a taxi in Gibraltar? What currency did they accept or did they accept credit cards? We will be visiting on our cruise in Sept.

Local currency is British Pounds, but according to a Google search, taxis will accept Euros. Don't know what kind of rate you'll get though.

Gibraltar actually has its own currency..BUT it is basically the same value as British pounds, so that is the best to use. Yes you can use euro, but they will exchange it to British currnecy values. Not a good deal. We saved some the British pounds we got for our couple days in Britain precruise, just for Gibraltar. Note that if you do use euros, that if you are due change you will get in their or British pounds.
