  1. Just wondering if you have previously sailed on both Hal and a Oceania? We have sailed on many Hal and have recently put deposits down on a 2022 and2023 Oceania. Wonder how you compare the two?
  2. Thanks for sharing. My 99 year old mom gets her second dose tomorrow. We took her on her first cruise 2 years ago. She keeps getting free cabin offers from playing slots but she realizes her cruising days are over.
  3. We wanted an aft cabin so booked today a 10 day Tahiti cruise for 2023. Today was the first day to secure cabins. We had a longer cruise on Holland America booked last year in March from Tahiti to San Diego that was canceled a few days before sailing so hopefully this one will sail!
  4. We found out today that accounting has changed their minds on our FCC. We originally got our fully paid for March 2020 cruise money applied to a June 2021 cruise. Then in November 2020 I noticed my credit card was credited thee full amount from the 2020 cruise. I had not asked for a refund. Called TA and while on phone they called Hal and after about half hour someone in Accounting said that it was unusual but we could keep the FCC even though they issued refund . Fast forward to today when we received notice of upcoming final payment and to our surprise no FCC now shows. TA and I were on phon
  5. I was just reading on another board that UK is hoping to relax COVID restrictions over the next 4 months. I am concerned that many countries are still currently closed for US tourists. I wonder if anyone has read anything more about plans being made to open borders for non essential travel? We have a Mediterranean cruise still booked on the Westerdam .
  6. I am glad they made the decision this far out. Ours is paid in full. Wonder if they will put us in same cabin if they have automatically moved our booking to a 2022 sailing?
  7. I don’t plan to cancel but would like to wait as long as possible before making final payment in case Holland cancels this cruise. Ours is now the earliest Westerdam cruise still on the schedule for 2021.
  8. I know that Oceana has extended their final payment to 60 days prior to sailing for cruises scheduled until sometime in Oct 2021. We have a cruise scheduled for Europe in June and final payment will soon be due. Does anyone know whether Holland America is asking for final payment as usual or if they are modifying the date due?
  9. Enjoyed reading his blog. Thank you for sharing.
  10. We just booked September 4, 2021 7 night inside passage Vancouver Round trip on the Koningsdam.
  11. We have found a unique itinerary for Feb 2022 on Oceana but for the last ten years we have mainly cruised on Holland America and larger ships before that. I am hoping to hear from past travelers on both lines who can share their thoughts on any similarities or differences between the two different lines. A sale begins on Monday so we are trying to research beforehand. Thank you.
  12. We canceled March 9 our March 15 cruise on the Maasdam. We finally received our FCC on Thursday. Still waiting for a refund of our taxes and port fees. We had used a FCD but that seems to have disappeared. I will call our TA this week and inquire and have them apply FCC for a June 2021 cruise we have already booked.
  13. Still waiting for my refund/FCC for 3/15 canceled cruise! Our friends got theirs on May 19!
