NCL family suite HC question

We just did an upgrade to a family suite on NCL Star but now see it is a handicapped (12032). Is it true that this cabin does not have the pullman bed? Has anyone had a rollaway bed brought in? If so how was the rollaway?

Our third person is my 73 year old relative and not sure she can take the pull out couch.

Thanks for assistance.

Linda

Correct no Pullman beds. Room has sofa bed that sleeps 2 to accommodate 3rd and 4th passengers.

Just a side . Since you're not certain your 73 year old relative can take a pull out couch than what would make you think the same relative could handle climbing up a ladder to a Pullman if the room had that configuration ?

Correction it is my understanding that the other family suites have a murphy type bed that pulls out to the floor.

Have been on many ships and many cruise lines. Have never seen Murphy beds on any ship regardless of cruise line. Cruise ships either have Pullmans or sleeper sofas . The other family suites may have Pullmans but definitely don't have Murphy Beds. Think the confusion is that you don't fully understand the definition of each.

  • Murphy bed - folds out from the wall and rests on the floor same as a traditional bed. ( not used cruise ships.)
  • Pullmans - can either fold out from the wall or drops down from the ceiling. Whether it folds out from the wall or drops down from the ceiling a Pullman Bed is always suspended in air requiring ladder access into the bed (used on cruise ships)
  • Sofa bed. - cushions removed and bed pulls out to the floor. (used on cruise ships. )

Stand corrected.

Found a youtube video of a non-accessible Star Family Suite which actually shows a Murphy Bed. Here's the link.

The Murphy Bed appears towards the en of the video.

The accessible cabin apparently does not have murphy bed as the location of such would inhibit safe usage of a wheelchair or mobility scooter was moving about the cabin.

The configuration of 12532 and 12032 are different than a non-accessible suite as demonstrated in the photos in this link.

The cabin shown in the link is accessible Star 12532. The wall that has the TV is the wall that the Murphy Bed would be located in a non- accessible family suite.

Yeah that is what I concluded from the info I could google and eyeball online. Just trying to verify this was true and the murphy bed had not been moved somewhere else in the cabin.

Thanks.
