At the distillery you won't actually get to see the liquor making process. Just a tour of the premises with guided info. And you get to sample some of the flavors.

It costs as much to take a taxi there as with one of the most popular tours (google Irie), which stops there plus takes you to the beach.

This. We plan on doing the Irie $25 tour, which takes you to the distillery, along with some other destinations, plus all the beer you want to drink on the bus (or other beverages).
