Sparky110 Posted June 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I was just wandering if the Northern Lights do occur in the Baltics during the month of July?
Desdichado62 Posted June 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2016 I was just wandering if the Northern Lights do occur in the Baltics during the month of July? Northern lights as in aurora borealis are only visible during the winter season since it's too bright during the summer.
Northern Aurora Posted June 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2016 I was just wandering if the Northern Lights do occur in the Baltics during the month of July? You will not be able to see any aurora in the Baltics in July. We live in Fairbanks, Alaska. In Fairbanks the best aurora viewing extends from mid-September to March. Occasionally an aurora can be seen in very late August or early September, but generally they will be very faint at that time. There are several aurora forecast websites. The one for the University of Alaska Geophysical Institute is: http://www.gi.alaska.edu/auroraforecast. The section titled "A Traveler's Guide" may be of help. We did an Alaskan cruise several years ago, flying out of Anchorage at midnight, late August. On the flight, we were treated to about an hours worth of the Northern Lights. Even the pilot of the plane commented on how active they were that particular night. So, never say never:):):):) Cheers Len

Globaliser Posted June 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 19, 2016 I was just wandering if the Northern Lights do occur in the Baltics during the month of July? The lawyer in me can't help thinking that the answer to the OP's actual question is "yes, they do occur but they can't be seen". :)
