Hy's Vancouver

Is it still wonderful??? We ate there about four years ago and really enjoyed the level of service we received and the quality of food. Anyone been there recently. Or does anyone have a similar type of restaurant in Vancouver that they would care to recommend?? :)

I love that place! You could aslo try Morton's ot Gotham Steak houses. I find them a little trendy-but the food is good.

Don't know how they do it, but they've managed to maintain a very high level of food and service over many years. It was my and dh's first 'special occasion' restaurant way back in the '70s.

Yay, that is what I wanted to hear. I had DH to call and inquire as to a childrens menu since the last time we went was pre child. This is the coolest thing. They do not have a childrens menu but if you call the day before they will specially make something child friendly for your little one. Gee Hy's and nice people....I think I am moving to BC!!!! :)

Gotham Steak house! YES! Yes steak you will ever have, but it is expensive. If you like seafood, try Joe's Fortes (sp) oyster bar! Very nice classy place as well.

Funny, I was just looking at the menu for Joe Fortes last night...YUM!!

I am not sure if children are able to in there? I dont ever remember seeing any? but maybe I wasnt looking to hard either.

Their raw oysters are a must have, you have to try!!!!

The GM at Joe Fortes said they don't really have a kids menu but will make pasta, chicken strips and other simple items....all we have to do is ask. :D

Hy's is still one of my favourite steak houses. Someone mentioned Gotham which is actually owned by Hy's. It is their trendy upmarket reinvention of themselves.
